Over the next month I want to turn this blog into a "listings magazine" for visitors to Barcelona. (Not really, but could be a way of making money). As part of my initiative I want to identify a Barcelona that is still accessible to the average pocket. First in this series is a list of restaurants where you can eat out for only 15 euros (or under). This price includes tax but does not include alcohol. It also means the evening and not an afternoon menu. Please leave your suggestions under comments. Should you visit, or have visited, one of the recommendations, then please give the venue a mark from one to five. Five meaning excellent value for money and 1 meaning very poor value for money. DON'T GRADE YOUR OWN RECOMMENDATIONS.

Himali (Nepalese Restaurant in Gràcia).
Here you can enjoy typical food from Nepal, which is quite similar to Indian food, For some reason, however, there is no sea food on the menu. I can't think why? Anyway, it is a relaxed friendly environment but can get quite busy on Friday and Saturday nights so book first. The decor is-well- quite interesting. You can see for yourself. The service is generally good and friendly and they will recommend a dish to suit your particula tastes. The food is not particularly spicy (at least not for us Brits) but you can ask for a separate spicy sauce which you can add yourself in the measure you wish.
As for recommendations, the moma starters are an absolute must as is the mango yoghurt drink. Without wine you can easily eat well for 15 euros or under.
And after (before) you are ideally located in Gràcia where you can enjoy its unique cosmopolitan atmosphere and get drunk.

TRES I NO RES
Tres i no res is a small pizzeria near Raval.
There are a lot of different specialities, traditional pizzas with ham, meat, onion, tuna, and cheeses but also with typical products like sobrasada, escalivada or morcilla. You can choose as many slices as you can eat and make your own pizza. If you don’t like pizza you also can it salads (quite big) or fresh paste. The chocolate cake or the cheese crème caramel are very good desserts. But if you prefer to eat at home, you can take away.
It’s very busy on Friday and Saturday nights and you can’t book so I recommend you to stay there until 9.30 pm, if not, you’ll have to wait.
After, you can take tiger nut milk or an ice cream in Sirvent, the most famous place of the city, or take a drink in the trendy nightclubs of Raval.

Sounds fantastic. I'll try it out.
Maitea is a very good basque restaurant in Barcelona (some people say it is the best one).
You can eat a lot of different kind of “pinchos” and “montaditos”, or if you prefer, you can order any traditional basque plate. And all this with a good wine. For example cool “txacolí” goes very well with the meal.
I like it very much, so I usually go there. You can eat very well for 12-15€, it depends on the number of “pinchos” that you eat. But if you would try something of the menu list, it will be more expensive.
It is opened everyday of the week (except on Sundays) from 8.30h to 24.00h, and it is placed in the 157th Casanova street. I think it is better going by public transport than by car, because it is very difficult to park near the restaurant. You can go by subway, the “Hospital Clínic” stop (blue line) is only two steps from there.
If you need the number phone, here it is: 93 439 51 07
Have a good meal!

I think I've been there, but I can't be sure. I'll check it out as I go on my great gastronomic tour. Thanks a lot Cristian.
Review of Maitea.
Cheers Cristian, my girlfriend and I visited Maitea this weekend and we were impressed. We had peppers stuffed with mince, bolied bacon with potatoes and an amazing chicken in a seafood sauce. The highlight for me though was the patxaran sorbet. An excellent recommendation, 4 out of 5.
K-WOK is a new concept of fast food.
Surely you will know Fresco, Lactuca, Oven…all these restaurants which for a fixed price you can eat all you want; but finally it’s just salad and pizza. However, in K-WOK you can find more exotic food.
You have to choose three dishes out of five offered: soup, salad, wok, sushi or dessert. As you can imagine from its name, the speciality is the wok, so I’ll recommend you to order one.
You have to pick a plate and fill it with all the vegetables, pasta, mushrooms, chicken, squid…that you fancy, and then you have to choose between three different sauces and ask the cook to wok. For me, the green curry is clearly the best.
Don’t forget to take a dessert, they are handmade and they are delicious.
If you want to have a special dinner, don’t go there because the decor is quite cold, bare and impersonal. However, if you want to be with your friend, don’t spend money and don’t wait too long for the food, it’s your restaurant.
It’s also a good option to go with children as it’s a relax atmosphere and they can play by choosing the ingredients they want to mix.
BON PROFIT!
